Past the demo: building for the week after launch

Demos prove possibility. Production proves judgment — around failure modes, ownership, and the boring systems that keep a product alive.

A demo is a story told under ideal conditions. A product is the same idea after users, bad data, and Tuesday afternoon outages have had their say.

I care less about the first green run than about what happens when something fails quietly. Logging, fallbacks, clear ownership of the path from input to outcome — these are not polish. They are the work.

That stance shaped how I build client platforms and SaaS tools alike: prefer fewer moving parts, make state obvious, and design for the operator who will maintain the thing when I am not in the room.

Shipping is not the finish line. It is the moment the real feedback loop starts. Build as if that loop is the point.
